The tradition of the “pig” and what once surrounded it is part of Vellave culture. Although times have changed, the memories still remain for many.
The Caillounades du Velay are inspired by this tradition to create a festive and friendly event around the sharing of “pig” in different forms. A meeting to highlight the pork industry of Haute-Loire but also all the food professions, from our butchers to our restaurateurs and our Saturday market. For two days, the squares and streets of Puy-en-Velay will come alive at the time of the Caillounades du Velay as an ode to the gradual end of winter. Music, theaters, tastings and conviviality on the menu for March 10 and 11!
