Where are the take-off sites?
Ten take-off sites are possible and the choice is made at the last moment, in particular depending on the intensity and direction of the wind. A take-off site may be announced, but may be changed by the flight marshal at the last minute depending on weather conditions. The planned site is announced approximately 45 minutes before takeoff.

- SAINT-VINCENT (Le Breuil)
- VALS PRES-LE-PUY (The electric)
- VOREY-SUR-ARZON (Brigols)
What time do the hot air balloons take off?
If the weather conditions are favorable, the take-off location is announced on the Tourist Office website: www.lepuyenvelay-tourisme.fr but also on the event website www.montgolfiere-en-velay.fr or social networks.

THE HOT AIR BALLOON GATHERING
Hot air balloon enthusiasts and lovers of breathtaking landscapes have a date for the great gathering of hot air balloons that has become a must in the region from November 8 to 10, 2024. Multiple balloons and crews come from all over the world! It is a unique aerial ballet, a great love story between Velay and its hot air balloons. The adventure began in November 1983, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the first human flight in a balloon. Since then, every year, the event has been a dream come true!
