La Route de Cistre

  • Itinerant
  • All-in
  • With luggage transfer
  • Cycling sports
  • Bicycle tourism
  • Electrically assisted bicycle
  • Hiking / bike ride
5 or 4 incredible days of cycling to share across the high plateaus of Mézenc – domaine de la Cistre: This herb also called “Alpine Fennel” which once dried offers all the aromas of Fin Gras du Mézenc.
You are going to discover the village of Moudeyres and its thatched cottages, the lake of St Front, of course the Mézenc.
You pedal on very accessible all-terrain paths, on small picturesque and quiet roads. So that this course can correspond to a family practice, the route has been specially adapted to make it as accessible as possible:

Short steps to connect your accommodation (but nothing prevents you from making detours in complete freedom to extend the adventure)
Paths that do not present great difficulty (at any time, you can dismount to overcome the possible difficulty)
Scenic but quiet roads that will allow you to ride while preserving your sense of security
Nice discoveries: The Barthes pond, the volcanic lake of Saint-Front, the Mézenc, the Recoumène viaduct
Note: the route passes over the Recoumène viaduct – A viaduct originally designed for the passage of trains – An intense moment when you will have to dismount to cross it.

A bike trip for a stay in the heart of nature to discover mountain landscapes, a volcanic lake, meadows as far as the eye can see, stone and thatch architecture and Altiligerian gastronomy. But that's not all, traveling by electric bike allows you to easily meet and chat with the inhabitants of Haute-Loire.
