Eglise de Saint-Maurice-De-Roche

Come and visit the church of Saint Maurice de Roche.
Discover this 12th century building made up of a nave with two semi-circular barrel vaulted bays, a transept surmounted by a dome on a squinch and a vaulted apse in a cul-de-four. Along the nave, the side aisles are vaulted in the form of a cloister arch. Square piers, with a pilaster on each side, are used to support the vaults. Three apsidioles lodged in the thickness of the masonry and vaulted in bottom of furnace, open on the apse. Outside, the apse is five-sided. A square bell tower with a large bay on each side, accessible by an outside staircase, overcomes the whole.
