Romanesque building from the XNUMXth, XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, large choir and single high nave, Romanesque style apse with sculpted capitals.
The church was built in three campaigns during the 1840th, 1840th and 1034th centuries. It is the subject of a classification as historical monuments since XNUMX (first list of French historical monuments of XNUMX, which included XNUMX monuments.)
It has retained its typically Auvergne Romanesque appearance characterized by a combination of polychrome stones. The machicolations, the parapet walk and other defensive elements remind us that the church was fortified. The bell tower, restored in the 1953th century, was fitted with a spire in the XNUMXth century. The visitor is always impressed by the width of the single nave covered with a pointed barrel vault. The stained glass windows installed in XNUMX are the work of a glass painter, Jacques Le Chevalier, they have recently been restored. Its organ dating from the XNUMXth century has also been given a new lease of life. Of recognized acoustic quality, it has hosted the prestigious Chaise-Dieu festival for several years for a cappella concerts and organ auditions. It also recently obtained a star in the Michelin guide.
