Distillerie des Bughes – Home Distillers

Home Distillers products are first and foremost the fruit of a family adventure. Originally, there were two brothers who were passionate about distillation, the eldest, Pierre-Henry Mayoux, giving the bug to the youngest, Bérenger Mayoux. Bérenger would transform this passion into a full-time activity in his garage to start in 2017.
His wife, Marion, joined him in 2019 to take charge of production.
The distillery moved to the former Solignac-sur-Loire train station in 2018; then the premises became too minimalist compared to the production equipment, so they moved to Les Estreys, in the town of Polignac in the heart of Haute-Loire, where they benefit from more space. They went from 8 300-litre stills to a 1200-litre cognac still, made of hand-hammered copper.

Marion and Bérenger are happy to welcome you to the Distillerie des Bughes to present their know-how, share their passion and introduce you to their products. These quality artisanal products are the result of several chemical reactions (malting, brewing, fermentation) and a chemical process: distillation. You will dive into a universe where plant matter is sublimated by copper and wood. Not curious abstain!

The products currently offered are Whiskies (peaty and non-peaty), white spirits (Gin Altitude or Vodka de Polignac), two Rums (from Réunion and Venezuela) as well as their Verbena liqueurs, one of which is made in partnership with the Marcon house of Saint Bonnet le Froid.
