Connangles

Connangles is a former priory of La Chaise-Dieu mentioned in the 13th century.
Possessing a very beautiful XNUMXth century church, very much inserted in the frame of the village, it only opens laterally by a beautiful semicircular arch. The apse is Romanesque and the nave Gothic. On the visible part of the chevet, corbels representing animal heads.
The village has many vernacular riches: wash house, cross, Calvary, old pumps. Other curiosities await you throughout the hamlets: a very beautiful oak tree several hundred years old in Barlière, beautiful isolated granite farms in Vieilleguerre and Bellut also dominating the hamlet of Faux (rural property from the 37th century), very beautiful mills Vieilleguerre, Friole, at the Blanc mill with its feeder canal (3 in all on the Senouire… you can still find the reaches), a sublime little shrine presenting XNUMX religious figures including a black virgin, undoubtedly dressed in Puy lace from the XNUMXth century in Intranges.
