Château de Thiolent: Parc et culture de la lentille

In the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, Thiolent Castle was a simple fortified house.
The important work carried out there in the 5th and 18th centuries allowed its transformation “up to date” into a leisure residence. A XNUMX ha park designed and planted with trees was added to it. The magnificent park laid out in the XNUMXth century includes several species of centuries-old trees: beech, maple, lime trees... as well as French-style flowerbeds. long shaded paths open onto the surrounding landscapes.
Monsieur de Veyrac, current owner of the castle, is also a farmer. The owners also passionately introduce you to their profession (lentil cultivation). Depending on the time of year, you can take a tour of the lentil fields with them.
