Château de Causans

The castle offers an example of 19th century architecture, halfway between Viollet-Le-Duc and Gustave Eiffel. It was yesterday and it's already so far away… All the atmosphere of a 19th century house.
In a neo-medieval style, it presents a very homogeneous and complete decoration from the end of the 19th century.
Coubon Castle was built in 1887 by Jean-Bélisaire Moreau, an important architect from Bourbonnais. It is the only castle in Haute-Loire built by this architect.
From a modest noble house of the 18th century, the architect Moreau made a larger residence, in the neo-medieval architectural style, here eclectic, which he often practiced.
What makes the most obvious interest of this residence is the interior layout, designed at the same time by Moreau, which offers an example of very homogeneous and complete decoration from the end of the 19th century with, in particular, the use of wood. of various species in the reception rooms on the ground floor.
The visit also includes the chapel and the English park.
The castle was included in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments in 2019.
