Chapelle Saint-Roch
The Saint-Roch chapel is built on the famous Chemin de Saint-Jacques of Compostela, located at approximately 1077 meters above sea level.
The original oratory was built thanks to the Montlaur family. It is mentioned for the first time in a document from the Hôtel-Dieu dated 1213 and then in an Archive of the Templars in 1217.
Saint Bonnet, who gave his name to the hamlet, became its first patron saint. Later, the sanctuary was dedicated to Saint Roch. It was remodeled several times in the 15th, 16th, and 20th centuries. Inside, visitors can admire the beautiful woodwork (1935) surrounding the choir…
