The cradle of equestrian sport in the region, Jullianges will host the 2th edition of the Raid des Pèlerins from August 7 to 8, an international equestrian endurance competition that brings together more than 500 riders from 30 different nationalities.

On the program: 40 equestrian endurance events from 10 to 160 km, the World Championship for 8-year-old horses and the French Championship for Aces. The starts and finishes are at the Jullianges racecourse where 5 loops of 10 to 38 km start.

Perched at an altitude of 910 m, in a forest setting that does justice to this wooded region, the Jullianges racecourse is a site dedicated to horse racing. It is notably the highest in Europe. In addition, it is ideal for organizing this type of competitionIts central geographical position, the facilities and the configuration of the site make it a highly appreciated competition ground. And the equestrian sports enthusiasts are there, to the great delight of the local economic fabric, with accommodation providers and restaurateurs in the lead.

In May 2025, the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne Equestrian Endurance Association (2ER2A), in partnership with the Puy-en-Velay urban community and the Department, completed a major project concerning the marking of equestrian loops, with the creation of 5 predefined circuitsThese loops will become permanent once the world championship is over. They can then serve as training grounds for competitors or offer pleasant walks for hikers.
