A In Brives-Charensac, tourists who choose to stay at the Audinet campsite are treated to a true change of scenery. They can enjoy the green spaces along the Loire River, a variety of activities, and delicious meals on the terrace of a riverside café in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Rated three stars, the campsite now offers 14 rental units, including mobile homes, bungalows, a canvas residence, and 115 pitches, now bordered by young plantings.
What are the specific characteristics of camping?

Nathalie Beauvie ( campsite manager ) : It's a traditional campsite focused on eco-tourism. Here, there are lovely pitches, and you're not crammed together like you see in larger campsites these days. We have 12 mobile homes, a canvas residence which is a permanent tent, like a safari tent. And then, we're converting two permanent bungalows that were damaged by the flood in 2024 into a large gîte with six beds. It's a permanent structure that can be used before the season starts because it's well-heated and well-insulated.
Have new investments been made?
Philippe Hugon ( Deputy Mayor, in charge of tourism ) : We've brought in two new mobile homes to replace the oldest ones. It's an investment we try to make every year. One has air conditioning and the other has a modular terrace. They're spacious, with large bay windows and bigger bedrooms. And we've also invested in LED lighting for the campsite.
Is this an asset for the town of Brives-Charensac?
Philippe Hugon: Yes, it's a major asset, even for the greater metropolitan area. We have a 4-hectare campsite with pitches of almost 100 square meters. And every year we work towards new certifications to make this campsite much more attractive and, as Nathalie said, to make it a green campsite.

Who are the customers, and what are they looking for here?
Nathalie Beauvie: We have 70% French and 30% foreigners. We have a bit of everything. There are quite a few hikers, especially those who do the Saint-JacquesCyclists too, and people who are really looking for space, peace and quiet, and a cool atmosphere. With the Loire River nearby, it's true that we have cool nights, and that's what people are looking for. There are no mosquitoes, and you really get a sense of space.
Have new hedges been planted?
Nathalie Beauvie: Yes, so in fact, with the 2024 flood, many hedges were damaged. They were replanted and we took the opportunity to clearly mark the locations.
Is there also a swimming pool available for campers?
Nathalie Beauvie: The municipal swimming pool offers them free access with specific time slots. It is open exclusively from July 1st to August 31st.
What kind of entertainment is offered?

Nathalie Beauvie: We offer small activities like the semi-nocturnal market on Tuesday evenings in the summer. Then we organize football or ping-pong tournaments, things like that. There are fishing trips, wooden games that are loaned by the toy library, and readings offered by the media library. And then there's also the welcome reception, which allows us to explain a little bit about all the things to do and see in the area.
Philippe Hugon: There's also the local Sports Loisirs Brivois association, which offers canoe trips to campers on the Brives-Charensac lake. And then, of course, there are all the sporting and cultural events offered in the greater Brives area, which bring a lot of people to the campsite!
What are the specific characteristics of the guinguette?
Julien Turban (manager of the open-air café): We have a terrace that was expanded this year with 210 seats, and we've moved the bar to the side of the greenway. On the other side, there's another area overlooking the greenway, opposite the footbridge, on the path along the Loire River, where we offer ice cream, drinks, and crepes. You can also play a game of pétanque and share tapas and charcuterie boards with friends. Children can enjoy the campsite's play area.
Every week, we have one or two specials suggested by Calo, our chef. We also eat excellent meat, as we work with Benoît Faisandier in Saint-Julien-Chapteuil, which is quite renowned for the quality of its meat, and also with Vaccaro for the ground beef in our burgers, as well as for our rib-eye steaks. You can also enjoy the very good pizzas made by our pizza chef, Anthony.
