Dating mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, the chibottes are original constructions which probably served as a tool shed and temporary shelter for the farmer. Young and old, come and discover this circuit which dominates the Dol valley

2.5 km interpretive trail that goes around the chibottes. Access from the chibottes car park.
Description
From the cultural centre of Vals, take the rue du quai du Dolaizon which runs alongside the stream. Cross the second small bridge on the left, continue straight ahead until you reach the road. Continue to the right and continue straight on until you reach the second bridge on the right.
Turn left onto the path of the Borie Blanche. In the woods, follow the small path on the left which runs alongside the main path. At the fork, turn right to go down the meadow and cross the footbridge over the Dolaizon. Continue until you reach the road.
Cross it (be careful) and go up opposite. Take the path on the left which runs along the chibotte of the Liratte wood. On the left is the private chibotte of the winegrowers. Continue along the path to the car park. A few metres before this, turn right.
Go up to the left (the Petite Valladière chibotte) then in the winding climb, take the small path on the left to reach the chief's chibotte. Go along it and continue between the trees opposite then to the right. (Be careful) cross the scree (private chibotte on the right). [viewpoint over the Dolaizon valley] Continue on the path to return to the main trail.
Turn left (Perbet's chibotte). Continue to the scree (Attention) [panorama of Vals-près-le-Puy and the Dolaizon valley]. After this is Odile's chibotte. Go down to the right, then further on take a path to the left.
Follow the path, ruins on the right. At the Chibotte du Grand Duc, turn left between the woods. Continue on the moor then go down between the copses, pass a chicane and continue until a wider path then a crossroads.
At the crossroads, follow left, then at the second crossroads, take the path on the right Saint-Jacques. At the crossroads, turn right onto the road, then at the bend follow it to the left, then go down to the right. At the bottom, continue left for a few meters.
Take the stairs against the house and follow the path of the kings. Cross the road and go straight ahead to reach the town hall of Vals. Cross the road on the right to return to the cultural center.
