Far from the main roads, the calm of hamlets hidden in the woods.
Route details
Description
Follow the main avenue which leaves the castle towards the west. Cut the D 906 and take a narrow grassy path opposite. Take the D 21 on the right for 150 m. Use the access road to Themeys on the right and enter the hamlet. Reach the height of an iron cross.
Turn right onto the dirt road. Cut the D 906 (> be careful!) and continue on the road for 150 m. Ignore the road which goes to the right, at Champot, and continue straight for another 100 m.
Leave the road to turn right onto a wide dirt road [> old Roman road] which leads to a perpendicular road. Follow it to the right to reach Monthiol.
At the entrance to the hamlet, turn right onto a dirt road which winds downhill. Continue through the woods. Pass a crossroads, leave Champot-Haut on the right on the height, and reach Champot-Bas.
Ignore the access road to Champot-Haut to take the path on the left which rises into the Clos region [> view of the tower of Bellevue Castle]. Continue to the village.
