The traditional national medieval archery tournament takes place within the walls of the Fortress of Polignac in the pure tradition of archery games.
For the 2025 tournament, around a hundred archers, who must be in costume, are expected.

This tournament welcomes more and more experienced archers every year from all over France and abroad, since in recent years, Swiss competitors have come to shine at the Forteresse de Polignac.
The number of registrations is constantly increasing: during the first edition in 2011, forty archers came to shine at this tournament. Today, the competition welcomes three times as many participants. Young competitors under 18 also come to compete each year and achieve excellent performances.
The archers' precision is what makes this competition famous. Each year, organizers must be inventive in finding ever more challenging targets to match the competitors' abilities.
The archers now know each other and enjoy competing in a friendly atmosphere on the many shooting ranges. Some competitors even customize their arrows specifically for the Polignac tournament.
Numerous shooting ranges are distributed as best as possible to occupy the 3 hectares of the fortress platform; each shooting range presents different objectives. Archers will see their skills put to the test during balancing challenges by being placed on high ground, on a barrel to reach the target several meters further away. Sometimes, archers will have to shoot at dummy animals hidden in the medieval-inspired garden, not to mention the test of the dynamic target wobbling in the wind.
