Saison culturelle – The Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra

Saturday, January 31 at 20 a.m.
Théâtre Place du Breuil 43000 Le Puy-en-Velay
This new show celebrates more than 30 years of the famous Big Band The Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra as well as the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of World War II.
He brings a new concept to our concerts, including a celebration of the most popular songs from the Swing era. Orchestra singer Paul Wood will, of course, pay a vibrant tribute to Frank Sinatra, not to mention a few wonderful surprises!

You will find songs with original arrangements by Nelson Riddle or Billy May: New York, Come fly with me, The Lady is a tramp, Mack the knife, You made me feel so young, etc.

Our singer Fiona Paige will perform the greatest hits of the 40s, such as "This Can't Be Love" and "Why Don't You Do Right" by Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee, and will be joined by Paul Wood for a few duets. After the interval, the orchestra will play Glenn Miller's best-known songs, as well as a selection of big band hits from the Swing era, including the classic "Sing Sing Sing."
