On stage, two women. They are two, but they are one. They represent the depressed woman at different times in her life. A tragicomedy by Elizabeth Paugam.
The sixty-year-old retraces the thread, the "forceps-pulled" birth, the mute and frightened childhood, the tormented adolescence, the neglected mother. What, at first glance, could be tragic, quickly turns into comedy. Because humor is never far away, offbeat, biting, and grating; it allows us to laugh at the cruel "trips" of existence.
A tragicomedy between truth and unreality, "Do cows chew the cud in the dark?" is ultimately a hymn to life, to resilience and an invitation to leave behind old wounds, "old backpacks" and "stained notebooks".
