The 8th season of Puy de Lumières will begin on Friday July 5 with its 9 emblematic sites enhanced by the Lumières scenographies. Be there in the streets of Puy-en-Velay, on the banks of the Loire. It's high time to go out at night
The natural setting for a show unique in the world
Shaped by volcanism, the town of Puy-en-Velay benefits from an unrivaled architectural heritage. Starting point of the pilgrimage to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, Le Puy-en-Velay offers its most beautiful monuments during the day, and magnifies them at nightfall with a lighting scenography which reveals its emblematic sites in a new face!
Enough to seduce pilgrims on the eve of their big departure. Le Puy-en-Velay enhances its cathedral, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Saint-Jacques. Puy-en-Velay also awakens its volcano... The Saint-Michel rock, 82 meters high, is a volcanic neck that is dormant during the day, but which erupts with fire and lava as soon as night falls...

Puy de Lumières is nearly 2 hours of free shows to enjoy as you please in one or more evenings.

Puy de Lumières starts every evening at nightfall*. So that the spectators benefit from an optimal quality of the colors and the show, the time of the show varies according to the length of the day:

– Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe rock
– Saint-Alexis chapel of the Departmental Council

3) August 14: no show at the Cathedral (Procession cause)
