Festival en saison : Misere d'Allegri
Sunday February 16 at 16:30 p.m.
Auditorium Cziffra 12 Place Lafayette 43160 La Chaise-Dieu
With the Escadron Volant de la Reine, a baroque ensemble founded in 2012 by cellist Antoine Touche. Works by Marco Marazolli, Giacomo Carissimi, Alessandro Melani, not forgetting the Misere by Alessandro Scarlatti and Gregorio Allegri…
All from the European Conservatories of Higher Education (Paris, Lyon, The Hague, Brussels), the musicians are linked by a deep friendship and it was natural that they came together in January 2012. The Queen's Flying Squadron refers to the ladies-in-waiting recruited by Catherine de Medici.
L'Escadron has already recorded 4 albums, all critically acclaimed: Notturno in 2016, 5 stars Classica and Diapasons; Il Furibondo in 2017, 5 stars Classica and 5 Diapasons; Il Tedesco in 2021, 5 stars Classica, 5 Diapasons and fff from Télérama. In 2023, Miserere was released, a new opus of Italian music around unpublished vocal pieces by Alessandro Scarlatti on the Oktav label, and which obtained 5 Diapasons and the favorite of Philippe Cassard (L'Obs ****).
