In today's amplified music, women have fought to exist and assert themselves in a milieu essentially composed of men where misogyny and machismo have been de rigueur for several decades. The role of women was often confined to that of performer, but the indisputable talent, even genius and strength of character of some have made it possible to reverse this unjust and senseless situation, long marked by the weight of patriarchy.
MALACA
Malaka is characterized by the voice of 2 sisters. Two very distinct grains, used to approach life naturally, accompanied by a refined playing. An invitation to appreciate the simplicity of a music carrying messages on the border of folk and soul. With the sisters of Malaka, music takes on a new dimension, where voices merge to create a captivating musical experience, a new land to venture into.
THE RED CAFETERIA
Barcelona, 2008. In the cosmopolitan and bubbling cauldron of the streets of the Catalan capital, by chance, these French, Spanish and Austrian musicians meet: "La Cafetera Roja" is formed. An urban mosaic, at the crossroads of influences, they find their identity through a borderless, liberated music, where each integrates his artistic and cultural universe.
La Cafetera Roja defines itself as a pop/rock/hip-hop group. Navigating between spleen and exaltation, the female voice brings sensuality and fragility to the energy carried by the MC's hip hop flow. Oscillating just as freely between the universes, electric guitars, cello, bass, drums and keyboard offer rich, fluid and unpredictable melodies.
"We like to subtly mix styles, to create rich, eclectic music that makes you dance and cry at the same time. La Cafetera is also angry, sometimes modest and delicate, always intense."
A true live band, La Cafetera Roja expresses all its colours, its mix, its openness on stage. Energetic, catchy and generous, the concerts are as many crossings where encounters between cultures and sounds are played out. On stage as in the Barcelona streets, the musicians embark and surprise the audience. Emotions intermingle against a backdrop of rock / hip-hop tinted universes.
