On the eve of his company's hundredth anniversary, Charles De, a brilliant businessman tired of his life, disappears into thin air. His only accomplices are his daughter and a couple he has just met. His son, a dashing entrepreneur, has him searched for by a detective.

A Swiss sailor deserts his post during a stopover in Lisbon. He loves the city, he loves Elisa whom he left in Switzerland and falls in love with Rosa, a waitress in a bar. He settles into a small hotel in the city and then begins a slow journey into himself, armed with his super-eight camera.
