PR191 Autour de Monac
A walk to discover panoramas and small paths around the steep Monac juice, which dominates the landscape.
In Saint-Pierre-Eynac, opposite the stone cross, take the D 26 on the right for 80 m and find a tarmac road on the right [chemin de la Virginie]. Facing the house, turn left and climb the path to the Virgin [panorama]. Continue to climb through the forest.
At the clearing, go down to the right along the grassy path. The forest thins out [view of the rocks]. Follow the path to the right which drops sharply and joins a wide path. Turn left, pass the small woods then, at the clearing, turn left into the forest. Cross it straight on. Take the road on the right and, after La Vizade, go right on the path. At the intersection, turn right and cross the woods. After 300 m, discover a path on the right.
Use this path, cut the small road near a house and continue along the tree-lined path. Cross the road (D 261) to go down opposite on the path. Head right and emerge into Monac.
Cross the street to find the path opposite which splits. Go right, go down and cross the Merlan stream. At the fork, turn right and cross the Sumène. At the crossroads, cross the road (D 26) and continue opposite between the houses until the D 15. Follow it to the right (> be careful!) for 150 m and turn right onto the gravel road. Go down this wide path, follow the Sumène for 50 m to cross it via the footbridge. Head left to Eynac.
On the square [> stone cross], head straight ahead to go down the road. At the big left turn, leave the road for the path which climbs into the forest. At the fork, continue the climb to the right and arrive below the Saint-Pierre-Eynac stadium. Follow it then turn right to go up to a crossroads. Take the road on the left until you reach the village.
