Le Puy-en-Velay

"Parcours botanique"

The Jardin Henri Vinay, a nearly 200-year-old park in the heart of the city.
Rich in its thirty-five remarkable trees, the route allows you to walk around the garden while learning about the different species.
Built between 1825 and 1884, the Henri Vinay Garden is a 4,5 hectare park located in the city center. For a long time, it bore the name of Fer à Cheval for the ponots because of its semicircular shape of its main path planted with lime trees, maples and plane trees.
The municipal greenhouses were created in 1902: they were the first production greenhouses in the town of Le Puy-en-Velay.
The Henri Vinay garden is full of plant species. Whether in flower beds or trees, there are a multitude of plants. Among them, thirty-five so-called remarkable trees will now be the subject of a botanical trail, thus giving the space a large landscape dimension. Realized by the agents of the City, the flower display will accompany you throughout your visit. During this walk, it is also possible to meet the different animals (swans, goats, fallow deer, wallaby…) and admire the different monuments (Vorey gate, kiosk, Crozatier museum).
